Background

Believe it or not, sftonight.com was born over 10 years ago at what was then Paradise Lounge in SOMA. Lucas and his friend Mark lamented about how they never knew when and where their favorite bands were playing, so the came up with an idea for a site that would have all venues in SF (with a massive number of bands), which would allow users to easily to find out what was playing at club xyz, or where abc band was playing. They called it sftonight.com, and when they got home at 2:30 AM, to their amazement, the domain name was available!

sftonight.com didn't materialize the way Lucas and Mark had hoped, and today there is another site which pretty much does just what they had envisioned: sfstation.com.

Today

So, after 10 years, Lucas finally decided to do something with this domain name, and that is the site you see here. sftonight.com my not be as slick as some of the other sites out there, but if you want to go to a nice venue in San Francisco tonight, then you've come to the right place for a recommendation!

Each week, Lucas and his girlfriend wife Bernadette will recommend 5-10 different places where you can eat, drink, party, be educated, and/or play. They know how busy you are, as they are just as busy, and they also know how nice it is when someone else just tells them a great place to go. So, they will do the same thing for you.

Since they live in Downtown San Francisco (just 5 blocks from Union Square), they tend to go to restaurants, clubs, etc., in the downtown area and SOMA, so their recommendations will favor this part of town. However, they do venture out to other areas of The City now and then, so don't worry, they will get to your part of town.
